Carrig have the strength to subdue out-of-practice Ballinora
CARRIGALINE are enjoying a great season with their intermediate hurlers very much in contention for honours. They lost the football final last year having failed to produce the form that got them there and are anxious for a second shot at the title.
While they will be without Eoin O’Sullivan who is on holidays, Carrig will still field a very strong side that will include Nicholas Murphy, his brother Peter, Killian Forbes, Kieran Blake and Owen Murphy.
Ballinora were comfortable winners over Delanys in round one but have been waiting an age for this game.
The experienced Eddie Carey will be in goal with Michael Hodge, Conor Brosnan, Eoin Lougheed, Cathal Sheehan, Philip Cantillon and Gary O’Halloran are also all included.

THE ‘Town have been decimated with injuries ahead of this game. Shane Murphy had a knee operation for a cartilage injury, Mark Cogan has a knee ligament injury and Alan O’Connor broke his leg.
The Rovers also have their problems, having lost the services of Fachtna Collins with a broken hand.
This is Rovers’ first year in senior ranks and they have been making a big impression, winning the All-Ireland IFC earlier in the year which has given them tremendous confidence.
They will field a very experienced team with several players having worn the county colours, including Jason Whooley, Kieran Daly, David Coughlan and Kevin O’Sullivan.
Bishopstown lack consistency, which was very evident in their first round draw against Na Piarsaigh where they allowed a big lead slip. They are also too dependent on James O’Shea for scores.

MALLOW must line out minus John Collins who broke his wrist in training, while the defending champions have no injury worries and will pick from a full squad.
Two years ago the North Cork side caused a bit of a stir when they dumped the ‘Haven out of the championship, but the West Cork side bounced back to win the title two years later.
Bernie Collins, Stephen Connolly, David Burns, Fra Cahalane and the evergreen Niall Cahalane are all in line for inclusion against a side that will include county U 21 player Cian O’Riordan, county minor full back Ken O’Halloran, and the experienced Micky O’Donovan and John O’Sullivan.

WITH their hurlers safely through to the quarter-finals following last Sunday’s thrilling win over Killeagh, the CIT footballers will look to follow suit against Carbery.
Carbery’s chances have been greatly reduced by the loss of four players from the side that defeated Ballincollig.
County senior Miceál O’Sullivan is on his honeymoon, Michael Feehily has an ankle injury, while Michael Milner and Kevin Walsh are on holidays.
Carbery have prepared well for this game and a win over UCC in midweek is the boost they need. The students reached the semis of this year’s Sigerson Cup before going down to eventual winners Sligo IT, and if all those players are available, they’ll make it very difficult for the West Cork division.
