Bradley in rugby move

DERRY forward Paddy Bradley will become the latest GAA star to try his hand at rugby when he lines out for his local club, Limavady RFC, in the upcoming season.

A growing number of GAA players have played the oval ball game in recent years, among them Meath’s Graham Geraghty and Offaly’s Ciaran McManus (Buccaneers), Mayo’s Ger Brady (Galwegians) and David Brady (Ballina) as well as Limerick’s Stephen Kelly (Thomond RFC).

The cross-fertilisation of codes has moved both ways as well. Munster’s Mike Prendergast joined the Limerick footballers earlier this season while former Irish fitness coach Mike McGurn and Dave Moriarty of Young Munster lent their expertise to Carlow and Limerick, respectively.
