Ireland go through in style

IRELAND are safely through to the final of the first Coca Cola International camogie competition at Croke Park tomorrow.

They advance following two emphatic wins over both Britain and the USA, both in Russell Park, Blanchardstown, yesterday. The opening game saw the home-side overcome Britain 6-24 to 0-2, while the second game was equally one-sided as Ireland won 3-15 to 0-2. The Irish will meet Britain in tomorrow's decider.

Scorers: Ireland: 6-24; E Kilkellly 4-3, A Mc Geeney 3-0, M Keating 0-9, E O'Brien, C Ryan 0-4 each, C Doherty 0-3, L Bugler 0-2.

Britain: 0-2; R O'Neill, E Linnane 0-1 each.

Ireland 3-15; M Keating 2-2, A Mc Geeney 1-2, T Flanagan, O Carey 0-3 each, T Maxwell 0-2, A Fahey, M Wyer, L Bugler 0-1 each.

USA 0-2, C Hanley 0-2.
