THE annual GAA Congress will debate the opening up of Croke Park to other sports, it emerged last night.

The controversial GAA’s Motions Committee, chaired by current president Sean Kelly, and including past presidents of the association, met yesterday in Dublin, and sources indicated at least some of the resubmitted Rule 42 motions were passed for congress debate in April.

The decision ensures the membership can still take the landmark decision to open Croke Park to rugby and soccer.
