Kerry club ties off until after final

KERRY are letting nothing stand in their way of claiming back-to-back All-Ireland titles by deferring all senior football championship activity in the county until after the All-Ireland final.

Kerry club ties off until after final

It’s going to be an extremely busy time for the county players in particular, who have to turn their attention to club activity two weeks after the Croke Park decider on September 25.

The clubs who advance to the semi-finals could be in action again a week later.

It will be interesting to see what the county board will do in the event of players from the teams who reach the semi-finals being chosen for the International Rules games in Australia from October 15, for two-and-a-half weeks.

The highlight of the quarter-finals should be the clash of Dr Crokes and An Ghaeltacht and how the latter cope with the threat of Colm Cooper.
