DESPITE fears of a possible confrontation between the GAA and the Gaelic Players Association over the contentious issue of players’ image rights, GPA Chief Executive Dessie Farrell was in Croke Park yesterday, mingling with the Association’s elite.

He was one of a number of personalities joining GAA President Sean Kelly and Director-General Liam Mulvihill at the press conference to announce details of the upcoming experiments in hurling and football.

But, Farrell stressed he was at HQ not on GPA business but as a member of the Football Task Force. In making his submissions, he had consulted with GPA player representatives around the country.
