Railway Cup final: Rampant Leinster take Cup in style
With a howling wind announcing winter had arrived, it really was a die-hards only day yesterday, and there were few enough of those. In an almost empty press box, we agreed on three hundred. We were feeling generous.
It remains mystifying why the Railway Cup has lost it’s public appeal. It produced another fine game of hurling yesterday. Those who had nothing better to do of a Sunday afternoon, were treated to seven goals, some wonderful points, a fantastic performance from Tommy Dunne and a breathless finish, if not quite grandstand at least, more exciting than any other games played at this time of year.
