With his arm in cast, after a nasty break sustained in the semi-final victory over Tipperary, he was a helpless spectator at the 1999 Munster SHC final, as the youthful Cork tripped up Ger Loughnane's quest for a third All-Ireland title.

He recalls how Clare brought themselves back into the game after Cork had made the early running.
