Three-month ban blow for Woods
Woods was red-carded for his part in an off-the-ball incident and has been ruled out of action until 17 July, the date of the Ulster SFC final.
The decision by Croke Park’s GAC will come as a blow to Monaghan manager Seamus McEneaney after his side’s league success on Sunday. Hurlers Alan Mynes (Louth) and Kevin Downes (Cavan) also received three-month bans for incidents in the National League. Mayo footballer Liam O’Malley and hurlers Michael O’Hare (Offaly) and Gerry O’Grady (Clare) received four-week bans which will hit their championship hopes.
