Micko brings curtain down on talk of leaving Laois

LIKE any great story, this one has had a touch of everything: drama, suspense, plot twists, a catalogue of characters and a touch of comedy thrown in for good measure.

What it lacks is a definitive conclusion, but all signs emanating from Laois last night suggested that Mick O’Dwyer was, after all, staying on as manager to the county footballers.

While all the talk of the previous 24 hours had centred on a possible switch to Dublin for the Kerryman, last night saw the spotlight instead being turned firmly on the players, who seem to have been made - unfairly - the fall guys for the whole fiasco.
