Ó Sé has been receiving round the clock treatment this week on the ankle injury he picked up in a trial game last week and, after an MRI scan, Kerry management are confident he will be available for the Kingdom's next game in the qualifiers or Championship quarter-final.
Indeed, coach, Paidi Ó Sé said last night his nephew only missed out on Sunday's decider by a couple of days, adding that he would still be part of the panel against Limerick.
"Darragh has a glorified ankle sprain, and not a chipped bone, as has been reported," he explained.
However, on Sunday, Brosnan will team up with Seamus Scanlon at midfield, with Dara Ó Cinnéide coming in at centre-forward to lead the attack.
Brosnan frequently lines out at midfield with Dr Crokes, but wing forward Liam Hassett will probably help out around midfield against Limerick pairing, John Galvin and Jason Stokes.
Michael Frank Russell reclaims his corner forward spot from John Crowley, but Russell's club colleague in Killorglin, John Sheehan, has lost out at wing back to the returning Marc Ó Sé.
Ó Sé has recovered from glandular fever, and will line out for his first Championship outing since last September's All-Ireland final. As expected, Seamus Moynihan returns to full back alongside new Kerry captain Mike McCarthy.
The battle for places in attack means that John Crowley, Aodhan MacGearailt and Declan Quill must all be satisfied with places on the bench.
Crowley and Quill started in Kerry's comprehensive semi-final win over Tipperary, and while Quill has been injured since, Crowley has been very impressive in training.
However, the selectors have given a vote of confidence to U-21's Colm Cooper and Declan O'Sullivan in the full forward line, alongside the returning Russell, who impressed with four points as a substitute against Tipperary.
Officials estimate Sunday's final will attract 35,000 to Fitzgerald Stadium.
