Injured Murphy doubtful for Waterford clash

CORK forward Kieran Murphy of Sarsfields is a major doubt for next Sunday’s Munster SHC clash with Waterford.

The corner-forward injured his hamstring in training last Friday night and attended yesterday’s training session on crutches, but the Cork camp are hopeful that the injury is not as bad as was first feared.

Cork have better news of long-term injury victims Timmy McCarthy and Wayne Sherlock. McCarthy tore a hamstring in the NHL game against Tipperary but has trained with the panel for the last three weeks, while Wayne Sherlock has been out of action since the Blackrock-Na Piarsaigh county semi-final last year.
