Kennelly soars to new heights with Swans

HALF a world away from Kerry’s preparations for Sunday’s All-Ireland SFC semi-final, one of the county’s young talents is continuing to astound the AFL and impress a Hollywood star.

Tadhg Kennelly, a former minor and U21 star whose brother Noel is in the Kingdom squad for the meeting with Derry, is playing the best football of his career with the Sydney Swans.

Earlier this month, the 23-year-old, who first travelled to Australia in 1999, was instrumental in the Swans’ win over Melbourne. Last weekend he repeated the feat, all but assuring his side a place in the play-offs for the Grand Final in the coming weeks.
