Cork rugby nursery Christians try their hand at senior hurling

FAMOUS rugby nursery Christian Brothers College have entered a hurling team in this year’s Cork Colleges SHC.

They have been regular participants in the U14 hurling competition for non-GAA schools and have enjoyed a lot of success over the years. This year they have decided to try their hand at senior level and have been drawn against Farranferris in the second round of the O’Callaghan Cup.

The Cork Colleges authority have succeeded in attracting a sponsor for the senior hurling championship, which will now be known as the Locker Room O’Callaghan Cup. They hope to be in a position to name a sponsor for the football championship in the coming week.

Both finals will be played under lights in Páirc Uí Rinn - the hurling on November 11 and the football on December 2.
