Dubs plan to give Roscommon the boot in Croker qualifier

DUBLIN senior footballers will sport the new adidas Predator boot when they take to the Croke Park pitch against Roscommon in their football qualifier on Sunday.

The “Predator Pulse” is claimed to be the lightest football boot to date, 40g of weight has been moved from the heel to behind the strike zone - which means increased ball speed and ultimately less reaction time for a goalkeeper. Will it mean more goals and points for the Dubs on Sunday? Manager Tommy Lyons hopes his team can kick more than a few past Roscommon.

“We know it’s going to be a tough match for us,” said Lyons at the Dubs’ training session earlier this week.

“But you can’t get to this stage in the championship and expect easy games. There is no such thing as an easy win in this championship, Roscommon will be trying just as hard as us to get through to the next stage.”
