It was a perfect occasion for the Kingdom players to show their skills, and the deadly forward trio of Declan Quill, Ross Donovan and DJ Fleming prospered.

Tipperary might have felt they were ready to spring a surprise when Patrick Halley opened the scoring after thirty seconds, but thereafter it was mostly downhill, with Seamus Scanlon and Paddy Kelly lighting the torch in midfield for Kerry.
