Cavan’s Forde banned for 12 weeks
He is one of a host of players who have got suspensions ranging from a month to three months as the Central Disciplinary Committee in Croke Park crack down on indiscipline.
Longford’s Liam Keenan received a four-week suspension after being sent off in the league game against Roscommon in March. His county colleague Declan O’Reilly also received a four-week dip after being sent off in the game against Carlow on March 26.
Other players suspended are: Aidan Higgins (Mayo); Noel Doonan (Leitrim); Brian Farrell (Meath); Alan Kelly (Carlow); Philip Gilsenan (Westmeath); Gary Doran and Geoffrey Bermingham (Wicklow).
Wexford’s Niall Murphy has been suspended for two weeks after his sending off in the Kildare game. Similarly treated was Damien Roberts (Carlow).
