Cregan dies

Peter Cregan, one of four surviving members of the Limerick senior hurling team which beat Kilkenny in the 1940 All-Ireland final, has died.

Cregan dies

The late Mr Cregan, aged 89, was on the Limerick team which won the first-ever Oireachtas final a year earlier. He collected five Railway Cup medals, 10 west Limerick titles, and numerous county titles, before retiring from inter county hurling in 1947. He is survived by his wife Frances and other family members.
