THE GAA’S Games Administration Committee’s disciplinary hearing into the sending-off in a tournament game of Longford footballer David Barden — which was due to be heard tonight — has been adjourned to May 26, the High Court was told yesterday.

GAC hearing is adjourned as Barden seeks injunction

Ms Justice Laffoy adjourned until Friday the hearing of an application on behalf of Barden for an interlocutory injunction to restrain the GAC taking any further steps to investigate the alleged breach of discipline on March 9 last at Longford Slashers, Longford, pending the hearing of an action brought by Barden.

Mr Peter Bland BL, for Barden, who lives at Kilmore, Killashee, Co Longford, said his client was suspended and as a result could not play against Carlow in the Leinster SFC first round meeting last Sunday.
