Ballingarry dethrone arch-rivals Mullinahone after see-saw battle
In the first-half Mullinahone looked sharper and with Eoin Kelly, Adrian Maher and Brian O’Meara leading the way with two points a piece, led 0-10 to 0-6 at half time. With pointed frees from the Kelly brothers Paul and Eoin the holders led 0-13 to 0-9 after 41 minutes. Ballingarry then upped their performance and four points from Philip Ivors, Johnny Holohan, Liam Cahill and Don Lyons tied the game.
Eoin Kelly restored Mullinahone’s lead with a point but on 51 minutes Lyons pounced for a Ballingarry goal and when John Holohan and Trevor Ivors fired over two points the champions trailed 1-15 to 0-14. In a hectic finish Eoin Kelly slammed home a free in the 60th minute but time ran out for the champions.
