Críost Rí saved at the bell by keeper

The Capwell college looked to be coasting to victory when they led by double scores, 2-10 to 1-5 after 55 minutes, but a cracking goal by David Moran who lobbed the ‘keeper from 12 metes, set up a grandstand finish by the Green which only failed thanks to the brilliance of David Bevan in the Críost Rí goal.

T ralee had the advantage of the strong wind in the first half and as the play swung from end to end it was the Cork side which broke the deadlock when Craig Neville burst through to score a fine goal which helped his side to a 1-3 to 0-4 half-time lead.

With the elements in their favour on the change over, Críost Rí had matters all their own way, but not before David Moran gave his side the lead with a goal a minute after the resumption.

From there on Críost Rí took complete control and Eric Hegarty and Barry Newman scoring points at will and Denis Reid slipping home a second goal, it looked as if the Cork side would win pulling up.

However, Liam O’Sullivan scored for the Kerry boys, with Liam O’Sullivan driving them on from midfield, and only Bevan’s magnificent save from Tommy Walsh denied them another.
