THE launch of a dedicated sports channel by Setanta will not spark a bidding war for GAA rights in the Irish television market.

“They are keen to build what they have and that means working on an impressive collection of cross-channel soccer and rugby. I’m sure they will be looking to develop coverage of events, or aspects of events, that are not being catered for on terrestrial television.”
