St Brendan's advance
St. Brendan’s laid the foundations for victory with a superb first half display that saw them lead at the interval 3-6 to 1-4 with goals coming from Sean Flaherty, John Egan and Brendan Blackwell.
Early in the second half, St. Brendan’s led by 0-11 but Abbeydorney rallied and full forward Tony Maunsell cracked home two goals and some fine points from Brian O’Donovan and Ivan McCarthy narrowed the gap to just a goal but time ran out and Abbeydorney’s fragility in defence in the first half cost them victory.
