Limerick delay naming selectors

THE Limerick county board are to delay naming their two new senior hurling selectors until later this month.

An announcement had been expected at tonight’s board meeting, but chairman Denis Holmes said that it was in the interests of one of those selected to defer making his name public.

Joe McKenna was reappointed manager for a two year period at the August meeting.

Meanwhile, Eoin Hayes, chairman of the football Board, confirmed that a fifth candidate had entered the race for the senior team manager’s job. Those who have expressed an interest include Kerry trio Páidí Ó Sé, John Kennedy and Mikey O’Sullivan, as well as Ger Lawlor, manager of the county under 21 team
