When the dust finally settled on this opening round of the 2006 NFL, Dublin had fought out a well-merited win over the All-Ireland champions to get their campaign off to a solid start.

Let's get the litany of brawls out of the way first. In the fifth minute Dublin wing-forward Derek Murray is fouled, and a 13m free awarded.
