CARLOW’S decision to concede a walkover to Fermanagh in Saturday’s opening Tommy Murphy Cup game could prove costly.

“We’re at the mercy of Croke Park now,” claimed Co. Secretary, Tommy O’Neill, adding, “we don’t know the financial consequences as of yet, but we will lose our share of the All-Ireland qualifier money, while there could also be a hefty fine. Some are talking of €50,000 should a county fail to participate in the Tommy Murphy Cup.
