Board to investigate assault on referee

AN investigation will be launched by the Kerry County Board as Gerard Lynch from Ballymacelligott became the latest GAA official to be assaulted.

The young referee was knocked to the ground as the Kerry Urban League football quarter-final between Keel and St Senan’s came to a violent end in John Mitchel’s pitch, Tralee.

Lynch had seen a St Senan’s player strike a Keel player five minutes from the end of the game.
