Aided by the breeze, the Clare boys declared their intentions with a couple of early points from top marksman George Waterstone, and were unruffled when Adrian Mannix brought Colman’s level, by the 12th minute.
Waterstone and Ross Horan then powered their side to a two point (0-5 to 0-3) lead at the interval.
However, all turned sour for them inside a four minute spell midway through the second half, Padraig Lynch engineered the St Colman’s fightback with a quality goal., and Scarriff hadn’t time to get that setback out of their system when James Sexton then goaled to put them in front (2-6 to 0-5) and the Cork side powered to victory.
