Aided by the breeze, the Clare boys declared their intentions with a couple of early points from top marksman George Waterstone, and were unruffled when Adrian Mannix brought Colman’s level, by the 12th minute.

Waterstone and Ross Horan then powered their side to a two point (0-5 to 0-3) lead at the interval.
