Herbert looking to reclaim Kick Fada crown

OVER 20 stars of Gaelic football will compete for the All-Ireland title at the MBNA Kick Fada competition on September 17th at Bray Emmets GAA Club in Bray, Co Wicklow.

The competition tests the abilities of the country's best footballers to kick for distance and accuracy.

Four-time champion Mark Herbert from Kildare holds the record kicking the ball over the bar off the ground from 72 metres out. Offaly goalkeeper Pauric Kelly is the reigning champion.

Launched yesterday in Croke Park by Laois' Fergal Byron and Dublin's Ciaran Whelan, there will be three competitions this year men's, women's and schools.
