Who’d bet against the draw

FOR those who enjoy a gamble, you could do worse than putting a few quid on a draw in Newbridge tomorrow. At 13/2, it looks like the bet of the weekend, better value than Bolton inflicting another defeat on Leeds.

Who’d bet against the draw

Dunshaughlin and Rathnew met for the eighth time in 26 months, with the throw in being brought forward half an hour for extra time, which will inevitably be needed. Never in Gaelic games history have two teams being so inseparable. Whatever the chemistry, it is working again this season.

“You’d think we would be sick of the sight of each other by now,” says Dunshaughlin keeper Ronan Gogan, who has played in every game. “And we are, to be honest. But, with each game, the respect for the other team deepens. There is really nothing between us, which is obvious, but if you look at last week, any time one side went ahead, they were always pegged back.”
