The All-Ireland champions ran out 26 point winners over Dublin in their first round qualifier tie at Dr Cullen Park but the 55th minute replacement of county legend Carey left fans sweating.
The manager explained: "DJ felt a bit of a twinge in his hamstring, that's all. He's fine. DJ looked sharp and he did very well."
