Colin puts boot into asthma
Apart from the colour, not much else will change. The boots that Corkery has used for the bulk of Cork’s scores this year will have a personal inscription on the tongue, C Corkery, with the boots being auctioned to raise money for the asthma unit in the Children’s Wing of the University College Hospital in Cork.
Corkery’s big-hearted gesture to the charity has been well received so far, and the talented full-forward hopes the change to the Rebel colour will drum up even more interest and generate even more funds for the asthma unit.
“We were overwhelmed by the response to the auction for the boots I wore in the Tipperary and Mayo games,” said Corkery. “Hopefully, the interest in the boots I wear against Kerry will be even higher and we can raise even more money.”
Bids for Corkery’s boots can be registered by calling 1530 444555. Lines are open from noon today until noon next Wednesday, and calls will cost 33c per minute.
