Hopkins' penalty proves decisive for Glanmire

MARK HOPKINS’ penalty goal five minutes from time proved decisive as Glanmire defeated Macroom 1-12 to 0-11 in a disappointing permanent tsb Cork County IFC quarter-final tie at Páirc Uí Chaoimh yesterday.

In a game that never really got off the ground, the greater football and finish of the Riverstown side earned them a deserved victory, but they'll have to improve if they are to beat Ilen Rovers in the semi-final, with Carrigaline awaiting the winners.
