After four long months, the controversial and divisive Mark Vaughan affair finally ended yesterday with the news that the St Brigid’s club will not be taking their case to the courts and will abide by the decision of the Disputes Resolution Authority.

Players, management and club officials met on Thursday to discuss the decision taken by the DRA the night before that Vaughan was entitled to play in the Dublin county championship first round meeting between the sides back on May 20.

Brigid’s were beaten by Crokes that evening but appealed the result on the basis that Vaughan should have been serving a suspension picked up in the Leinster club championship late last year.
