Killarney is ‘perfect’ venue, says Kelly

GAA PRESIDENT Seán Kelly wants a meeting with the Garda Commissioner to debate ways and means of improving traffic management for major games in the provinces to avoid a repetition of the problems encountered by Cork and Tipperary supporters en route to Killarney on Saturday.

Killarney is ‘perfect’ venue, says Kelly

Mr Kelly, who robustly defended the choice of Fitzgerald Stadium as the venue for the Guinness All-Ireland qualifier game, said it was clear that special arrangements should be put in place on the occasions of big games.

"Having traffic lights working normally in towns approaching major venues is a recipe for chaos and we did have chaos as a result of it," he said. "It should be possible to have a better flow of traffic a couple of hours before the game."
