KERRY’s forward momentum for 2006 was further dented yesterday by the retirement of their most experienced attacker, Dara Ó Cinnéide.

The 30-year-old winner of three All-Ireland medals phoned Kingdom coach Jack O’Connor and informed him he would not be returning to the inter-county fold.

Liam Hassett, also 30, is expected to follow suit. Though the Laune Rangers man has not made a formal announcement, he has also told friends his Kerry career is at an end.
