Longford's second-half show too much for Carlow
The visitors had the advantage of the wind in the first half, but despite playing reasonably well, they still ended up trailing 1-6 to 0-6 at the break, with Seán McCormack firing home a Lonford goal in the 21st minute.
It was one-way traffic in the second-half as the rampant home side added a further 11 points to their tally, four from full-forward Colm Flynn and two apiece from Gerard Victory and Bernard McElvaney, with Seán McCormack, Brian Kavanagh and Joe McCormack also on target for Longford, who could afford the luxury of missing several other chances, including at least three goal attempts.
