After another winter of discontent on Shannonside, Padjoe Whelahan followed Eamon Cregan and Dave Keane and severed ties with a senior team that has only a win over Kerry - and a nervy one at that - to show for three summers of hurling.

Momentum can be fickle, though, and Limerick's slide could easily be reversed with a win over Ken Hogan's side in Thurles. Captain Ollie Moran certainly seems to think so.
