Dublin speed off speechless
Lyons didn’t attempt to make any excuses on the game itself. Indeed, if he had any excuses, he wasn’t about to tell the media.
Dublin evacuated the scene of their demise in almost record time, boarding their coach outside Croke Park without any of the players or management speaking to the media after the game.
Lyons was approached for his thoughts on the defeat before boarding the coach with the rest of the players and officials, but declined to give an interview.
The normally effusive Dublin manager simply said he had nothing to say, before leaving the ground.
So, Dublin continue to keep a low profile this summer, but that is not necessarily going to endear them to the media in general, who were, after all, only trying to do their job. A little common courtesy would help them greatly in this regard.
