GAA players ready to strike for payment
The Gaelic Players Association (GPA) said it was prepared to withdraw services unless demands for compensation for players are met. The GPA, which represents hundreds of the country's top hurling and football stars, also told members to brace themselves for action.
Last night, GAA spokesman Danny Lynch accused players of being deliberately confrontational. He claimed the GPA's primary sole was to push for a pay-for-play policy.
