TG4 to recall when Spillane walked the walk
The programme, which will be shown on Sunday night, was formally launched in Spillane's pub in Templenoe last evening by Sports Minister John O'Donoghue.
"His record speaks for itself one of only five men to have won a record breaking eight All-Ireland medals, 12 Senior Munster Championships, 2 All-Ireland U21 Championships, 9 All Star Awards, and he was picked for both Team of the Millennium and Team of the Century the list goes on and on.
"It is this litany of achievements which have made Pat a role model for many young people in Kerry who play Gaelic football and try to emulate him," the Minister said.
In the programme, Spillane talks about his playing days and his own ploys to fool referees. Other contributors include former team-mate Páidí Ó Sé, commentator Micheál Ó Sé and Pat's mother, Maura.
