GAA, RTÉ get connected with 3G championship highlights

THERE’S nothing quite like the feeling of leaving a championship ground on a summer’s day as news of a shock elsewhere in the country moves through the throng.

With Vodafone 3G, now people will be able to see footage of that shock.

Vodafone, the GAA and RTÉ launched the first ever GAA Championship video download service in Croke Park yesterday, which will be available free all summer to Vodafone 3G customers.

The service will include full-time highlights of all live televised hurling and football matches, ready to download less than half-an-hour after the final whistle. 3G customers will also be able to watch footage of the non-live games hours before they are shown on television.

The service begins this Sunday and kicks off with the Ulster football clash between Armagh and Fermanagh as well as Tipperary’s encounter with Limerick in Thurles.

The coverage, with commentary, will contain the best moments of the game, along with post-match interviews.
