Dubs are first players to be tested for drugs during training
This follows media reports that inter-county players had yet to undergo out-of-competition testing.
Out-of-competition testing was the subject of much controversy when it was first mooted, with the GAA initially sceptical of testers visiting players outside of normal matches.
The four footballers were asked to provide samples after a training session in Parnell Park. Dublin are preparing to face Roscommon in Sunday's All-Ireland qualifier at Croke Park.
GAA players have been tested after games since last year and 40 inter-county players were tested in last year's championship.
Out-of-competition testing became a fact of GAA life on June 1, but this is the first time the procedure has been carried out.
Meanwhile, Dublin manager Tommy Lyons not release details of his side until match-day.
