Voting extended as Cats duo lead legend poll
Despite Kilkenny’s defeat on Sunday, DJ Carey and Henry Shefflin are still the most voted-for players, with Cork’s Seán Óg Ó hAilpínin third place.
Dublin votershave registered almost 30% of the votes cast. Cork have registered just under 15% whilst Clare, Kilkenny, Tipperary, Wexford and Waterford have registered 4% each. Fans outside of Ireland have cast 4% of votes.
Tipp ’keeper Brendan Cummins is in pole position for the number one spot ahead of Damian Fitzhenry. Brian Lohan ise the strongest contender in the full-back line ahead of Cork duo Diarmuid O’Sullivan and Wayne Sherlock.
The half-back line consists of Ó hAilpín, Offaly’s Brian Whelahan and Clare’s Seán McMahon.
Colin Lynch and Tommy Dunne are the dominant duo in midfield, while Shefflin leads the race on the half-forward line with over 70% of votes. Tipperary’s John Leahy and Wexford’s Martin Storey complete the line.
Carey and Joe Deane are the the nation’s favourites in the full-forward line, with Tipp’s Eoin Kelly coming in at a close third, just ahead of Waterford’s Paul Flynn and Galway’s Eugene Cloonan.
