Masters a mighty Ranger
The Nemo Rangers forward bamboozled the St Senan’s defence to finish with 1-5, all from play, and his final tally should have been at least a goal more, but after selling his marker a great dummy, Masters sought to place the ball out of the Senan’s’ keeper’s reach only to be denied by a wonder save by Derek Garvey.
The build-up to Masters’ opening goal was neat and precise. The ball came to William Morgan, another forward to leave an indelible mark on this one-sided final. He cleverly swapped passes with Masters on the St Senan’s’ 13-metre line before the latter picked his spot giving the goalkeeper no chance from five metres out. That goal helped Nemo to a 2-4 to 0-1 lead after 23 minutes and the Clare champions were never going to turn that nine-point deficit around.
