Cordial’s injury cost Offaly the game, says McNamara

THE traumatic loss of outstanding debutante Michael Cordial swung yesterday’s riveting Leinster SHC semi-final in Wexford’s favour, claimed Offaly manager Michael McNamara.

Cordial was having the game of his young life when he sustained a blow on the head just before half-time.

He played on for a further fifteen minutes after the resumption but was forced to depart the scene he adorned with absolute splendour and was taken to hospital immediately after the match, suffering from concussion.
