For a club that has lost more than €33m since a group of ex-Manchester United players took it over in 2014, things have just gotten a whole lot brighter for Salford City FC (SCFC).

The EFL League 2 side – which finished eighth in the fourth tier of the English league this season – hit the headlines last week after an Irish-backed consortium, fronted by David Beckham and Gary Neville, took ownership of the club.
