In August 2016 a long-since vanquished FAI board director contacted me and asked for assistance with a problem he had with an unknown lawyer from Ljubljana.

Aleksander Ceferin wasn’t causing an issue as such, rather he was looking for assistance from the Irish, who might help the president of the Slovenian FA with his ailing campaign in the upcoming Uefa presidential elections.
