Within 90 seconds of kickoff in Liverpool’s game against Chelsea last Sunday, Arne Slot’s stated determination to change very little from the Jurgen Klopp era appeared to be in evidence. Diogo Jota intercepted a misplaced pass from Chelsea’s defender Tosin in a central area just outside his box. Liverpool were pressing high, there were others in support of Jota and anyone familiar with the nine years of Jurgen Klopp could be pretty certain what would happen next.

Liverpool would surge forward and lift the crowd with their energy, whether they scored or not. If Klopp was there, he would be exhorting them further even if the opportunity was missed.
