UK horse racing meet delayed as vets take care of unusual incident

They were called to a nearby petrol station to rescue a horse that had become trapped.

Racing at Thirsk was delayed for almost half an hour after the veterinary team made the short journey to extricate a horse that had got stuck in its box after leaving the track.

The 4.35 race finally went off at 5.04 after the relevant emergency services were back in place after attending the incident not far from the English course.
